Prenatal Dental Care
Studies suggest that gum disease during pregnancy can contribute to a type of diabetes prompted by hormonal changes. Gum disease also puts women at a greater risk for preeclampsia. These diseases not only impact a woman's health but can increase her chance of having pregnancy complications. Some insurance has Prenatal Dental Care Program, a special benefit for expectant mothers who are in their second or third trimester. This program provides extra coverage for specific dental services, including dental cleanings, deep scaling and debridement.

Are your teeth eroding or wearing away?
Dental erosion is caused by acid originating from the external environment or from within our own bodies. External dietary sources linked to erosion include soda drinks, diet drinks, alcohol and sour acidic foods. If you are pregnant, have gastro esophageal reflux disease, or have an eating disorder, your body can produce high oral acid levels that can lead to tooth enamel erosion. We can help you minimize dental erosion by reducing high oral acid levels.

Dry Mouth!
Saliva is your body's natural oral defense system, delivering important minerals to your teeth to keep them strong and healthy. Without enough saliva, you can suffer a mineral imbalace that leads to increased risk of tooth disease. Ask Dr. Omid what relieves dry mouth and helps strengthen enamel.
